Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes the small amount of data associated with Rancho Cordova Residents Directory. The reference points to public records and historical collections in Rancho Cordova and California, requires no account, and does not store a government record about a visitor.

Information You Enter

Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search widget are sent to the third-party provider that powers the results. Rancho Cordova Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the mailbox receives the content of your message and uses it to answer that message.

Routine Technical Logs

Hosting providers normally record technical logs such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those records may be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.

How Limited Data Is Used

Technical and message data is used to operate the pages, address faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or build an individual profile from ordinary use. The public records described on the directory pages remain with the Sacramento County, Rancho Cordova, California, court, library, or other custodian that holds them.

External Portals and Tools

Links lead to the Rancho Cordova public-record request portal, county and state record tools, the Sacramento County Assessor records service, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. The privacy policy of the outside service controls anything submitted there. Search providers may collect, use, or retain information under their own terms, and Rancho Cordova Residents Directory does not control those practices.

Who Receives Technical Data

Hosting and service providers may process server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. A valid legal process may require disclosure. No other routine disclosure is intended.

Security and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for as long as the operational purpose requires. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles maintained by the directory reference. No security measure can promise absolute protection, but limited collection reduces what could be exposed.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor is believed to have sent information, use the Contact page so the material can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.

California Privacy Rights

California's Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, can give consumers rights to know or access data, request deletion subject to exceptions, correct information, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and receive nondiscriminatory treatment from covered businesses. Whether a particular right applies depends on the business and the data involved.

Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, Sacramento County, Rancho Cordova, courts, libraries, or other custodians are outside our control. Requests to remove or correct those records must go to the office that holds the record.

The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, governs access to many state and local records. The Sacramento Room collection and other custodians apply their own access rules. It does not give a private reference power to alter a custodian's record or override a separate confidentiality rule.

Policy Changes

Any revision will be posted on this page with the updated wording. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
